Videos and Concrete (Soilcrete)

You asked for them, now you got them! Check out the videos in the upper right corner of this blog, you might notice, these are my videos! Right now the videos are of a tarantula that was strolling around my property. The other videos are of the front of the cabin (Bob hates it when I call it a cabin, I'm going to have to start calling it something else, maybe sky castle?). The concrete now goes all the way to the top of the sky castle, Bob took the forms off this morning, this is a big milestone for us. :) Woo Hoo!

Anyhoo, watch the videos, and enjoy, let me know what you think.

  1. Wretha,
I checked out the Berkey water filters you recomended on John's blog. Thanks for the link. They look like great products.
I like how you have your videos in a window directly on your blog, without having to navigate away from the page. How do you do that? I looked at all seven videos you had posted. Do you have a video, or still image of the house as a whole. It was hard to get a sense of the place from so close up. A shot from out in the yard looking back at the house would be nice. By the way, what area are y'all in. The landscape looks a bit more mountainous than at John's place. I hope all is well. Let me hear from you. I have a new post on my blog if you care to check it out.

  2. Hi Allen, thanks for writing. putting the video in the top portion of the page took a bit of doing and a lot of experimenting. I don't know if I can properly explain it, I am still learning how these derned blogs are put together, it's a bit of HMTL and a lot of CSS, unfortunately there isn't a good place (yet) to learn how to layout Blogger blogs, believe me I have looked high and low. But there are enough places out there that will teach you how to do some things in Blogger, with that and the CSS tutorials, I was able to make it work, though not exactly like I would like it to work. I want to learn how to build a blog from scratch instead of reworking an existing template.

Try these, they show a couple of pix of the sky castle (I'm not allowed to call it a cabin any more) where we live, sorry, that is a closely guarded secret, we do have more mountains that John, we are quite a bit farther north from him, not too far away though. ;)

I have been reading your blog, it's interesting to read about another culture, especially getting it from a non-native. I'm emailing you about your blog now. :)

  3. Allen, those are 2 links above, they ran together.
